Ecclesiology and Eschatology #7 – Gifts of the Church

This week we ask the question “How are we equipped to accomplish the mission and ministry of the church?” The task the early church was given was none less than to change the entire world. This little band of disciples numbering maybe 120 strong would go on to affect it’s world in large measure. How did they do it? The key was the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus declared in Acts 1 and we see exhibited in Acts 2. Our task is much the same, to bring the gospel to the entire world. And the means is the same as for the first Christians, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. This week we will talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they help us accomplish our mission and ministries.
