Eastern Religions – #4 Buddhism

In this class session we looked at the origin and teaching of Buddhism. Because of its roots in Hinduism, it shares many of the same ideas, such as reincarnation and the need to break that cycle. But it also broke from traditional Hinduism by denying that there is a soul and defining everything as suffering. Further, it seeks a more philosophical view of good and evil and the desire to eliminate evil as well as desire.
